Provided overall leadership and supervision of Section affairs in alignment with the Section Executive Committee, presiding over meetings and supporting the growth of chapters, affinity groups, and volunteer initiatives. The role included developing plans to meet member needs, identifying and training volunteers for leadership positions, overseeing timely reporting and financial confirmations, appointing nominating committees, preparing annual Section activity reports for IEEE Canada Region, representing the Section at IEEE gatherings, and ensuring smooth leadership transition through proper record transfer.

Maintained the IEEE Canada region website at www.ieee.ca, including updates to conference information, events, announcements, and posts. The role also involved managing email lists, DNS name services, and web hosting infrastructure to support reliable online operations.

Supported efforts to connect IEEE with local industry and governmental organizations, while helping build links between universities or colleges and partner organizations for collaborative research and service projects. The role also included supporting technology entrepreneurship activities and organizing or co-organizing networking events.

Collaborated with section groups and chapters to coordinate membership development activities across the section, helping strengthen engagement and participation within IEEE Ottawa Section.

Managed Section finances, including expense processing, budgeting, disbursements, and year-end financial reporting. The role also included preparing annual budgets and final financial statements for committee activity reports, handling bank account signature authority documentation where permitted, and ensuring proper transfer of Section financial records between leadership terms.

Led software quality assurance and traffic detection initiatives for 7x50 service routers, with a strong focus on automated test development using TCL, Bash, Python, and Perl. The role included containerization with Docker, Swarm, and Kubernetes, lab maintenance and system administration across Linux RPM and DEB environments, Windows, and macOS, Elasticsearch administration, and co-op training and supervision. Key projects included automating DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and DNS over TLS (DoT) validation and traffic generation for mobile and web with Appium and Selenium, building automated traffic generation and analysis workflows, delivering Docker-based ELK stack logging with Beats and Logstash, developing TCL tests for encrypted SNI in QUIC and TLS 1.3, setting up NAS infrastructure, and building hardware, VM, and router-based test environments for high-speed traffic exchange.

Supported the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of L2 and L3 network devices, including Cisco routers and switches. Project work included WLAN redesign using Ekahau ESS and Spectrum Analyzer, along with Cisco configuration automation using Ansible.

Performed L3 and L4 traffic inspection to validate traffic detection functionality on the 7x50 service routers platform, while supporting quality assurance of application and protocol signatures. Project work included Python socket programming and setting up test environments across simulators, virtual machines, hardware, and workstations.

Delivered discipline-specific seminars, TA workshops, and training sessions as part of teaching assistant professional development. The role also involved providing ongoing one-on-one support and consultation to more than 700 international teaching assistants across the university.
